However, the more time they spend together, the more Aaron realizes that Josef isn’t being honest, and that his real plans are actually quite sinister. The video ends with “coming soon”, sparking rumors aboutCreep 3finally happening, but it was a different project within the universe ofCreep.Duplass’ announcement was about a TV show titledThe Creep Tapes, which will be based ona collection of video tapes from the secret vault of his character, who he called “the world’s deadliest and most socially uncomfortable serial killer” (viaIndie Wire).

In 2020, Duplass shared that they were struggling to come up with a story for the thirdCreepfilm.
The success of the first two movies made way for the confirmation ofCreep 3in 2017. Back then,Brice said the project was in development and he would return to direct, with Duplass reprising his role. However, in 2020, Duplass toldIndie Wirethat they were struggling to come up with a story for the third film, and though they were “putting effort into it”, they didn’t feel what they had was “good enough yet”. Unfortunately, there have been no more updates onCreep 3since then, so for now,The Creep Taleswill be its replacement.
