If you cast your mind back to 2022, the first season dropped on HBO Max at 12am PT/3am ET. Excluding Netflix shows, which almost always stream at the same time, the 6pm PT/9pm ET window has become increasingly common, as it means US viewers don’t need to stay up late or risk seeing spoilers in the morning.

Gunn has directed three episodes in the new season: Episodes 1, 6, and 8. “It can be a little bit difficult at times to turn it over,” he said during a press event.
“I originally planned to shoot all the episodes, but then I got hired as the head of the studio and couldn’t do that. So it was hard, but I took the three that I thought were the most difficult. You’ll see six and eight are my two favorite episodes of the season.”
Journalists also haven’t been sent Episodes 6-8 in advance, with Gunn wanting to protect their secrets before they air. “I really don’t want what’s in those last three episodes to be spoiled… I won’t even let my publicist see them,” he toldBrandon Davis.
