It’s Monday and the start of a new work week, andConnectionsis here for a daily dose of wordy puzzles. This one was a bit tricky, with words that were less clearly connected to each other than usual. There are some crossover words that can make it difficult to figure out as well.

Today’s Connections Category Hints

JUNE 10 #364

It’s Monday and it is not the right day to lose yourConnections’streak. For most, just seeing the categories is likely enough to finish this puzzle without looking at the answers.

HEART

SUBSTANCE

This category was fairly straightforward. CRUX caught our attention as an interesting word and seeing it next to HEART felt compelling. From there, ESSENCE made us think we were on the right track, and finding SUBSTANCE put a cherry on top.

ELABORATE

INVOLVED

We did not guess this category correctly today, despite coming very close multiple times. We were absolutely convinced CRUCIFIX belonged in this category for no particular reason and it was to our demise that we did. Now that we can see them together, it feels more obvious, but we also got stuck on ELABORATE being a verb as opposed to a synonym to the other options.

10 Best Connections Tips, Tricks, & Strategies

Four categories with four words each sounds simple, but the daily challenge of the Connections game can prove difficult without a few tips to help.

CHECKBOX

HYPHEN

This one felt cohesive and we were able to guess this one correctly second. While we were not sure what the category was, the fact that these were all types of punctuation or things you would put in a note made sense. BULLET and ARROW felt like they were together regardless, and there were only two other words that had anything to do with symbols.

CRUCIFIX

HYBRID

While we considered that ANGRY and BETRAY likely went together when we got down to the final eight words, we lost by assuming CRUCIFIX went elsewhere. HYBRID also does not seem like it goes here, and it feels like a bit of an outlier in general. However, now that we can see the categories, CRUCIFIX definitely belongs here and HYBRID still seems like an odd choice but it does fit here better than anywhere else.
