This Witcher Trailer Is Exciting — But Doesn’t Entirely Ease Hemsworth Concerns
Much Of Hemsworth’s Performance Remains A Mystery
Before Hemsworth had even been given the chance to show his face in the role, audiences began deeming him incapable of doing justice to the Geralt role. This fan base has been so vitriolic that Hemsworth’s co-stars, such as Ciri actor Freya Allan, have had to jump to the defense of the incomingWitchercast member. Hemsworth’s only hope is that, once actually given the chance to perform in the role, he could redeem himself against the critiques of the Cavill loyalists.
In theory, he has been given a chance to do so upon the release of this trailer forThe Witcher. However, Netflix has made the choice not only to make this a short teaser, but to make it a wordless one as well. Hemsworth does carry some essentials of the role even in this clip, carrying himself with strength and stoicism, as well as the trademark white wig. He is not, however, given a chance to even speak, limiting his ability to prove his worth in the role.

Because of this trailer choice, the criticism of Hemsworth’sThe Witchercasting is bound to continue for a while longer. Physically, his costumes, makeup, and hairstyling team made him look a lot likeCavill’s portrayal, which could be a good or a bad thing for the series. Next time Netflix releases a trailer, the often-brutalWitcherfan base will likely have a lot more to say, assuming Hemsworth actually gets the chance to show more of his performance.
