That’s a really good question. I think what always drove me while working on that show was the audience and who I knew I was making the show for. Of course, I know that she is an iconic character that spans many generations of fans, but the people that I was making that show for while we were making it were young women, and if I kept that in the forefront of my mind, it always made everything palatable.

Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrowis one of the next big priorities for DC Studiosand was one of the firstChapter 1, “Gods and Monsters” moviesto be announced in January 2023. Based on the DC comics by Tom King and Bilquis Evely,Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrowwill be directed by Craig Gillespie, while the script was written by Ana Nogueira. King, who is part of DC Studios' creative initiative, is working onSupergirl: Woman of Tomorrowas an architect, most likely in a consulting role.

Earlier in 2024, Warner Bros. Discovery boss David Zaslav said that they are currently working on additionalSupergirl: Woman of Tomorrowcasting, although which characters will be part of Kara’s film remains to be seen. Principal photography forSupergirl: Woman of Tomorrowis reported to take place later in 2024 and will be shot throughout 2025. DC Studios andWarner Bros. WhileSupergirl: Woman of Tomorrowis currently set to be Alcock’s official DC Universe debut, there have been reports suggesting that she may show up even earlier, in David Corenswet’sSupermanmovie in 2025. Given that they are cousins, it would make sense for Alcock’s Supergirl to show up in some capacity inSuperman, especially if it helps set upSupergirl: Woman of Tomorrow. Hopefully, as the year progresses, more updates will emerge onSupergirl: Woman of Tomorrowsooner rather than later.
