Summary
AStarfieldplayer has found a bizarre alien that resembles Squidward fromSpongebob Squarepantson a visually stunning planet. As was one of its major selling points prior to its launch,Starfieldfeatures approximately1000 planets across 100 star systems, with a combination of some handcrafted locations by Bethesda for the sake of story, and others that were procedurally generated. There have been complaints that many of the planets have appeared somewhat bare and lifeless, but as players have continued to explore the Settled Systems in the months sinceStarfield’s launch they have found plenty of new creatures and wildlife.
RedditorPedro_MS83shared an image of an alien that they deemed “the ugliest creature [they’ve] ever seen”, witha blue skin tone and long trunk-like nose that somewhat resembles the head of the anthropomorphic cartoon octopus, Squidward.

The creature was found on the planet Leonis III, a planet that unsurprisingly resides within the Leonis star system. The planet itself is notable for its distinct luminscent grass, which is shown in further images and looks particularly striking at night as it lights up the vast fields.
The creature in question is called a Flocking Snuffler Scavenger and is native to Leonis III.

10 Most Dangerous Creatures In Starfield, Ranked
The over 1000 Plantes of Starfield are home to some disturbing and dangerous creatures, many of which are all too willing to prematurely end a run.
Starfield Is Full Of Bizarre-Looking Alien Creatures
Some Far More Dangerous Than Others
Despite its disturbing appearance, the Flocking Snuffler Scavenger doesn’t seem to be too dangerous, with observation field notes of Leonis III’s fauna and flora shared byPalwaJokoshowing that the creature only has a “wary” temperament. According to these notes, the Flocking Snuffler Scavenger can provide the resource Antimicrobial, which can be used in various Pharmacology crafting needs, such as Medical Treatment.
Antimicrobial can also easily be purchased by vendors.
Other creatures players might encounter are far more dangerous, however. While any player who has joined the United Colonies Navy on New Atlantis has likely come face to face with the game’s most recognizable non-human threat, Terrormorphs, there are several other terrifying creatures ready to hunt players, such as the level 40 Hunting Cephalopod, giant spider-octopus hybrid that can kill players easily with one hit depending on their stats and armor, with these creatures potentially flying or turning themselves invisible to create even further nightmare fuel.
Even though Pedro_MS83 deemed the Flocking Snuffler Scavenger the ugliest creature they’d ever seen, the truth is that there are far worse beasts to run into on players' journeys through the Settled Systems. With the sheer scale present inStarfield, and its upcomingShattered SpaceDLC expected to introduce more planets, such asHouse Va’ruun’s home, Va’ruun’kai, and its top-secret star system, there are sure to be many more alien species, both friendly and unfriendly, still to come.

Starfield
Bethesda Game Studios presents Starfield - the first original IP from the studio in twenty-five-plus years. Set in the year 2310, the United Colonies and Freestar Collective are observing a shaky truce after a war set 20 years prior. The player will customize their character as a member of a space exploration team called Constellation while navigating The Settled Systems and the conflicts between the warring factions. According to Bethesda, players can explore over 100 systems and 1000 planets to find resources and build their ships, living out their own sci-fi journeys.
