Spider-Man: Brand New Day report reveals 5 villains ‘planned’ for Tom Holland’s next trilogy

Spider-Man: Brand New Daywill kick off Tom Holland’s next – and possibly final – trilogy in theMCU, and there are five villains he could end up facing off against.

As Holland wrapped up his publicity tour on No Way Home, he said, “If I’m playingSpider-Manafter I’m 30, I’ve done something wrong.”

His attitude has clearly changed. The actor has been busy filming Brand New Day, the start of a new trilogy that will also tee upAvengers: Doomsday(while unconfirmed, he’s expected to appear in that movie as well as Secret Wars in 2027).

As confirmed by Kevin Feige, next year’s film will be a street-level adventure for Spidey, and it’ll feature Jon Bernthal’s Punisher and the Hulk. The question is, who are the villains?

According toThe Cosmic Circus’ Alex Perez, Wilson Fisk could appear somewhere in the next Spider-Man trilogy (whether that’s in Brand New Day or another film remains unclear).

When asked who will be the main villains in the new movies, Perez responded: “Wilson Fisk, Venom, Tombstone, Hammerhead, and Prowler are some of the names I’ve heard.”

Fisk, aka Kingpin, is especially notable for a couple of reasons. Firstly, we know he’s aware of Spider-Man’s existence after Daredevil: Born Again, because he references “a man who dresses in a spider outfit.”

Secondly, Vincent D’Onofrio earlier expressed doubt about Kingpin ever appearing in a Marvel movie, and there was a very boring reason: rights issues.

“It’s a very hard thing to do, for Marvel to use my character. It’s a very hard thing to do, because of ownership and stuff,” he toldJosh Horowitz.

“I’m only usable for television shows… not even a one-off Wilson Fisk movie. It’s all caught up in rights and stuff. I don’t know when that would work out – or if it ever would work out at all.”

Maybe things have changed behind the scenes at Marvel, perhaps D’Onofrio was simply wrong, or there’s a chance he was just bluffing. Plus, considering Charlie Cox appeared as Matt Murdock in No Way Home, it would make sense if Spider-Man and Kingpin clashed somewhere along the way.

In a new social media post, D’Onofrio addressed other reports – but he kept things brief. “Honestly I have no idea,” hewrote.

As for Venom, it’s unlikely it’d be Tom Hardy’s version of Eddie Brock. However, in the same Cosmic Circus report, when somebody asked if the symbiote left in the MCU at the end of No Way Home would have any importance in Brand New Day, Perez wrote: “On the advice of counsel, I invoke my Fifth Amendment privilege.”
