CBS is going where no man — er, network — has gone before. According toa report from Variety, four new series set in the Star Trek universe are currently in development at CBS after prolific sci-fi screenwriter Alex Kurtzman signed a five-year deal. Kurtzman will oversee the expansion of CBS’s Trek portfolio, which currently consists solely ofStar Trek: Discovery. It’s unclear how extensive CBS’ plans are for the Trek universe — if Disney’s Star Warsactivityis anyindication, we’re in fora lotof spinoffs — but we do know of four projects currently in the pipes....

Microsoft is currently working on its next generation of game consoles, and it has been rumored that one of its new systems will not feature a disc drive. Now, the company appears to be close to making this a reality, as an all-digital Xbox One is reportedly coming next year. According toThurrott, the disc-free Xbox One system will cost around $200, down significantly from the standard price of current models. The console will apparently launch alongside a “disc-to-digital” program that gives players the option of turning in their old disc-based games for download codes....

New York Attorney General Letitia James is questioning Zoom’s privacy practices after the videoconferencing platform has surged in popularity this past month due to the coronavirus pandemic. James’ office sent a letter to Zoom on Monday, March 30, asking about the company’s security measures amid increased traffic,according to The New York Times. The letter reportedly outlined concerns such as Zoom being slow to address recent security flaws and trolls hijacking Zoom meetings....
