One of my biggest gripes with Apple keyboards has also been the most obvious one. Their outrageous price. Advanced driver-assist systems like Tesla’s Autopilot and Volvo’s Pilot Assist are often touted as the cutting edge of safety tech, and possibly a stepping stone to self-driving cars. But in a recent test of these systems, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) found their real-world performance to be lacking. “Evaluations of adaptive cruise control and active lane-keeping show variable performance in typical driving situations, such as approaching stopped vehicles and negotiating hills and curves,” an IIHS statement said....

Baldur’s Gate 3, the highly anticipated RPG set in theDungeons & Dragonsuniverse, will launch in early access later this year, developer Larian Studios confirmed. The announcement was made by Hasbro in an investor event at the New York Toy Fair. During Wednesday’s Apple event, the company announced thatMacOS Mojavewill be exiting its beta status on September 24. The operating system was announced earlier this year at the Worldwide Developers Conference and developers and consumers have been helping Apple test the OS since then inbeta editions. Public broadcasting now has another foothold in the streaming era, with local PBS affiliates coming to DirecTV Stream,the streaming service formerly known asAT&T TV, DirecTV Now, and AT&T TV Now. The addition will put PBS on its second streaming service after being added toYouTube TVearlier in 2021. The rollout to DirecTV Stream will be gradual, however, with only “participating member stations” becoming available “over the next few months.” PBS says the full launch will be completed in 2022 and will include the live feed of the local affiliate, as well as access to PBS’ large (and free) on-demand library....

Tesla’s largest-ever Powerpack installation may be coming to Northern California. Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E)appliedto the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) for approval for a utility-owned 182.5 MW energy storage farm using Tesla Powerpacks at the company’s energy storage site in Moss Landing.
