MF Ghost’s Second Season Promises to Be Just As Good as the First

Based on the manga by Shuichi Shigeno,MF Ghost’s first season unsurprisingly received quite a positive response fromInitial D’sstill thriving fandom. The buzz surrounding the sequel originally stemmed from fans' curiosity to see what had become of Akina’s infamous downhill specialist, but Kanata Rivington and his GT86 wasted no time in reeling fans in much likeInitial Dhad for decades.

MF Ghost’s Kanata Rivington and his GT86 have managed to keep the AE86’s legacy alive while still telling a new, refreshing story. Despite its contemporary setting,MF Ghoststill retains much of the charm of the original series thanks greatly to Tomohito Naka, the director of Season 1 ofMF Ghost, also known for his contributions toInitial D.

Tomohito Naka is expected to return forSeason 2 ofMF Ghostas well, which suggests the upcoming addition to the franchise will be just as good. More importantly, Kanata’s search for his father is far from over and neither is the MFG, which means season 2 could be where the fun truly begins.
