Empire’s exclusive image shows Hahn’s titular witch alongside three newcomers toAgatha All Along’s castPatti LuPone as Lila, Ali Ahn as Alice, and Sasheer Zamata as Jennifer. Interestingly, it also includes Debra Jo Rupp, who returns after playing Sharon inWandaVision, where she was cursed to play the role of Mrs Hart.

Along with the first-look image, show-runner Jac Schaeffer has revealed some more details on what MCU fans can expect. Specifically, Schaeffer reveals the big difference betweenAgatha All AlongandWandaVision:
“[Where] WandaVision played with the form of classic TV sitcoms, [here] we do a lot of playing with what the assumptions about witches are. Like, what are the shorthand visuals for witches?” But, expect, too, to find some of the emotion that permeated WandaVision. We certainly didn’t want a one-dimensional nasty witch. We will have moments where we see Agatha’s true heart.”

Everything We Know About Agatha All Along - The MCU’s WandaVision Spin-Off Explained
Agatha will see the return of Kathryn Hahn as Agatha Harkness alongside Aubrey Plaza and Joe Wicke. Here are all the details so far.
Who Are Agatha’s Coven Of Witches In Agatha All Along?
Hahn’s return as Agatha won’t be a solitary one.Agatha All Alongwill see her ally with a new covento regain her powers. Schaeffer offered a tease of what will unite the coven:
“What they have in common is that they’re covenless witches. Witches are defined by deception, treachery, villainy and selfishness. What do you do when you have a group of witches who [demonstrate] those notions and you need them to work together?”

Debra Jo Rupp is the most interesting inclusion in that group, as she wasn’t presented as a magic user inWandaVision. Sasheer Zamata is reportedly playing Jennifer Kale, who, in Marvel’s comics is a sorcerer apprentice of Dakimh the Enchanter. Speculation has suggested that Ali Ahn is playing Alice Wu, based on Alice Gulliver from the comics, who is the daughter of August Wu, the magical guardian of Hong Kong, and Detective Sergeant Adam Gulliver.
Patti LuPone previously confirmed toThe Viewthat her character is Lilia Calderu, who has a long Marvel comics history as the leader of the coven protecting the Book of Cagliostro. LuPone describes Lilia as “a 450-year-old Sicilian witch whose power is divination and whose trial is tarot.” She also revealed that Joe Locke will play the role of the coven’s Familiar:
“It’s a coven of witches, and I play Lilia Calderu, who apparently is in the Marvel world. I researched her, she’s hot, she’s really hot, she’s got a great body and hair. I didn’t know there were witches, I didn’t know anything about the Marvel world. There are witches in the Marvel world. So, we are a coven of witches and the witches are: Kathryn Hahn, Aubrey Plaza, and [a] Familiar — if anybody knows Heartstopper — is Joe Locke.”
Notably, Aubrey Plaza’s Rio Vidal, an original character in the show, is missing from the first-look image. She is reportedly the villain (and rumors suggest an ex-lover of Agatha). You’ll be able to read All Alongin Empire’s full story in the next issue, on sale Thursday 4 July.
