LEGO Dune Ornithopter announced with pre-orders available
The LEGO Dune Ornithopter has been announced with a release date of July 25, 2025. Pre-orders are now available in the US at major retailers. Fans of the sci-fi juggernaut aren’t going to want to miss this.
Officially titled theLEGO Icons Dune Atreides Royal Ornithopter, this LEGO Dune set recreates arguably the most iconic vehicle from the long-running sci-fi series into an advanced building project, and the results are spectacular. It is scheduled to retail for $164.99 and is comprised of 1369 pieces. There’s no guarantee that stock will hang around until the release ofDune: Part Two, so we advise acting sooner rather than later if you’re interested.
Based on the most recent Dune series of movies, the LEGO Icons Dune Atreides Royal Ornithopter also includes several minifigs reminiscent of the film’s cast of characters. In the box, you’ll find Paul Atreides himself alongside Lady Jessica, Gurney Halleck, Chani, Leto Atreides, Liet Kynes, Duncan Idaho, and Baron Harkonnen. The latter of which stands out for how incredibly long he is.
The LEGO Ornithopter looks spectacular with its mechanical wings and industrial steampunk design translating incredibly well. The set measures 22 inches long, 10 inches high, and 31 inches wide when accounting for its wingspan. True to the vehicle it’s based upon, the wings can fold out and flap, too. What’s more, the landing feet and rear ramp can be retracted as well.
