Summary
I’ve seen various90 Day Fiancéspin-offs since 2014, but90 Day: The Last Resorthas to be the worst. When the network announced the therapy-oriented spin-off in 2023, I was just as excited as any other viewer. Thespin-off had the potential to be entertaining because of its unique concept, which featured five couples sharing their marital problems and fixing them with the help of relationship experts.90 Day: The Last Resort’s first traileralso impressed me, highlighting a lot of potential drama with unexpected plot twists and promising some unforeseen bombshell moments.
Contrary to many other fans, I initially held a positive view of90 Day: The Last Resort’s cast. I was optimistic that the couples were participating in the show for genuine reasons, a belief that was reinforced when they courageously shared their deep-seated marital issues in the early episodes. Regrettably, my enthusiasm waned as the season’s focus shifted to the therapy sessions. It seemed that these sessions, far from being a source of support, often exacerbated the couples' conflicts. The show morphed into a platform for cast member rivalries, a far cry from its intended purpose.

20 Best Reality TV Shows Right Now
Reality TV is more popular than ever. With so many to choose from, here are some of the best reality TV shows to stream or watch right now.
90 Day: The Last Resort Featured A Happily Married Couple Who Didn’t Need Help
Yara & Jovi Shouldn’t Have Joined The Show
Over the months, I realized why90 Day: The Last Resortfelt like a pointless spin-off. It featured clout-hungry cast members who only joined the show for more fame.
Two such examples are Yara Zaya and Jovi Dufren. I was surprised to see the American-Ukrainian pair on the show because their social media told a different story. They seemed happy with their marriage and closer than ever. Lately, I’ve begun to think thatYara and Jovi simply joined the spin-offfor more screen time.Their marital issues felt superficial, like something they’d come up with on the spot.

90 Day: The Last Resort Featured More On Drama/Controversies Than Actual Therapy
The Cast Began Engaging In Conflicts With One Another
I must admit that90 Day: The Last Resorthad an interesting concept. However, it became unpleasant due to controversies and drama. The first two episodes seemed promising, focusing on cast members discussing their marital issues. Kalani Faagata addressed Asuelu Pulaa’s cheating scandal, whileKelly Brown opened up about Molly Hopkins' bossybehavior. Unfortunately, the show took a negative turn after episode 3, shifting focus to off-therapy conflicts and competition, which had a detrimental effect. BigEd Brown argued with Kelly, Yara complained about Angela Deem to Jovi, and Angela clashed with LizWoods.
90 Day: The Last Resort’s cast members entered each other’s business rather than focusing on their worries.

I was shocked to see the men take therapy so lightly and visit a strip club, turning their retreat trip into a bachelor’s party. The ladies were also not much behind. They seemed more interested in sun-tanning and gossiping with each other than spending time with their significant others. By episode 8, I felt certain thatthese cast members would have benefited a lot more if they had sought therapy in private. It wasn’t important for them to come together or interact.
Therapists On 90 Day: The Last Resort Failed To Mend Big Ed & Liz’s Relationship
Ed’s Past Life Regression Therapy Didn’t Resolve His Issues With Liz
The therapists on90 Day: The Last Resortdidn’t meet my expectations. They didn’t successfully resolve the couple’s issues or provide valuable insights. The past life regression therapy with Ed appeared misleading and didn’t offer useful learning experiences. Liz also didn’t receive good advice regarding her relationship or move to Arkansas. It seemed likethe therapists didn’t fully understand Liz’s relationship. Although the couple left the show together,Ed recently broke up with Liza few weeks before their wedding. This indicates that the therapy wasn’t effective.
90 Day Fiancé: “User” Michael Ilesanmi Will Never Succeed On Social Media (He’s Permanently Damaged His Reputation)
Michael Ilesanmi from the 90 Day Fiancé franchise has returned to social media, but his chances of success on Instagram or TikTok seem slim.
90 Day: The Last Resort Therapists Failed To Provide Angela Deem With Any Genuine Advice
Angela & Michael’s Marriage Lacked Trust, Respect & Love
I was disappointed that the therapists didn’t advise Angela to consider leaving Michael if she didn’t fully trust him or his intentions.
Michael had cheated on Angela multiple times in the past and appeared to have ulterior motives for wanting to come to the United States. Thetherapists witnessed the deterioration of Angela and Michael’s marriagebut didn’t make an effort to assist her. While it’s understandable that many people don’t approve of how Angela treated Michael, it doesn’t excuse the therapists' lack of proper relationship advice at that time.

Four Out Of Five Pairs Have Permanently Split Since 90 Day: The Last Resort
Yara & Jovi Are The Only Couple Still Together In 2024
I recently realized four out of five pairs have split up since filming the90 Day Fiancéspin-off a year ago. Jovi and Yara were never truly unhappy, so they are still together. However,Liz and Ed, Angela and Michael, Kelly and Molly, and Asuelu and Kalani have all permanently ended their relationships. I haven’t seen a90 Day Fiancéspin-off with such a poor outcome. It almost makes it seem like the spin-off was a big failure, and the hours viewers spent watching it have gone to waste.
Why 90 Day: The Last Resort Doesn’t Deserve Season 2
Couples Facing Challenges Need Real Therapy
After reviewing everything that happened in90 Day: The Last Resort, I have to admit it was a meaningless spin-off. It had some entertaining moments, but most were absurd arguments and senseless feuds.
Scenes likeEd getting naked in the pool or Angela flashing her breasts again were simply there for shock value. I now realize the spin-off was always supposed to be like an extra-long Tell All episode, pitting the cast members against each other. The retreat was never meant to be therapeutic or beneficial for the couples.

90 Day: The Last Resortwas mediocre at best. Therefore, I believe the network should consider revamping the spin-off to provide a better viewing experience. Manyviewers, including myself, grew tired of the season halfway throughand were disappointed in its decline. If the network hasn’t approved more seasons yet, I would suggest they refrain from doing so for a while. It would be better for them to focus on enhancing their current shows. Viewers like myself would prefer to see new90 Day Fiancécast members instead of watching the same people return every few months.
