With Harry explaining that he’s changed his ways, I believe thatPerfect Matchseason 2 is giving Harry the perfect edit for a redemption arc this season. After matching up with Jessica, who was afavorite onLove Is Blindseason 6and someone who Netflix would work hard to find a genuine match for, Harry’s perception on the show has changed. While it would’ve been expected that the woman matched up with Harry was someone he’d be able to pull the wool over, Jessica is the opposite of meek. Instead,Harry’s matched up with someone who advocates for herself.
As Harry’s matched up with Jessica, it feels obvious to me that Netflix has been setting him up with an arc to redeem his scandalous past. Rather than havingHarry be thought of as a difficultor promiscuous person, pairing him up with Jessica makes it clear that he has redeemable qualities and could be a stand up guy. While I believe everyone deserves a second chance, the fact that Harry has been perpetuating this narrative when just days before meeting Jessica, he was invested in something else,makes me wary of his redemption arconPerfect Matchseason 2.
