FortniteChapter 6 Season 2is all about grand heists – and this time, hijacking the train is absolutely worth your time.

I’m sure most players haveneglected the trainfor almost an entire Chapter now, but the Lawless season gives the train’s goods a bit of a boost to make your trip worth it. That said, with better loot comes a tougher challenge. It’s not a matter of waiting for the loot to drop now.

In this guide, I’ll show you how to open train vaults in Fortnite so you can look extra cool with your newbattle passskin.

How to open train vaults

To open vaults in trains, you must first take down aturret, steal itsThermite Core, and then place it on thevault doorlocated on thetrain’s roof.

Keep in mind that any nearby active turrets will destroy the Thermite you planted, so make sure to disable them first. Trust me, I lost two Thermite before realizing this – it sucks.

Once you’ve placed the Thermite, all you have to do is wait. Unlikeregular vaults, there’s no puzzle to solve, and reinforcements usually arrive once you’re inside the vault.

When the vault door is blown open, you’re able to hop inside, but be ready to defend yourself from enemy players and bot guards. The guards are teleported nearby as soon as the train stops, so be quick.

The train travels through the center of the map, starting from Crime City’s east, passing through Brutal Boxcarts and Seaport City, and then heading south of Foxy Floodgate.

You can spot it by looking for a moving vault icon with a smaller wolf icon on top of it.

What’s inside the train vault?

Inside each vault, you’ll find two blue and silver chests as well as some common ones. There are loads of golden bars, which should come in handy to spend on the new vending machines. Plus, two Dill Bit coins await inside. Pick them up to use them on the Black Market later on.
