How To Start The Glowing Sea Quest
Gearing Up
After you complete the previous main quest,Dangerous Minds, you will automatically start The Glowing Sea. This will happen when youspeak to Doctor Amari, who will send you to find Virgil hiding in the dangerous location you are headed for. It also hasvery high radiation levels and some dangerous enemies, so you will need to be well-prepared before you head out.
You shouldfirst look at Doctor Amari’s room for medical supplies. The dangers you will face will force you to take damage. Your protection from the Glowing Sea will not stop the radiation damage fully, so you need to have some on you for healing. There is also afirst aid box in the facility where you are located, which can also give you supplies.

You can also take an ally, andNick Valentineis a good choice. He is also in the facility, so you can talk to him and ask him to help you. You will then want to prepare bygrabbing a hazmat suit, or you could go and spring to get your Power Suit. Whichever way you go, you will need one of them before facing the Glowing Sea inFallout 4.
The hazmat suit can befound by going to Fallon’s store in Diamond City Market. There is a barter option that will allow you to buy a hazmat suit with a Radiation Resistance (RR) of 1000. Additionally, theRaider Power Armor inFallout 4is available at theMassachusetts State House raider hordes by killing a raider on the roof, which has an RR of 1050. Both are viable options, and you can see the full stats for each below:

Where To Find Virgil In The Glowing Sea
Virgil’s Locations In The Radiated Wasteland
Finding Virgil in The Glowing Sea will be a bit of a challenge in and of itself, but with thecomplete protection you collected to get to this point, you should be able to handle the hazards. To start searching, you first want tofast travel to Fort Hagen, the lastsettlement inFallout 4that you can pass through.
From there, you willmostly want to travel south, take a long journey on foot, and come to an overpass. You are specificallylooking for the Mass Pike Interchange. From there, keep going directly south. You are looking for a lake - it will glow as is appropriate. Once you pass the Mass Fusion Disposal Site, go east and find the road.
At this point, you can follow the road, which should take you in theexact direction of the objective marker. You will notice when you officially enter The Glowing Sea. Before heading directly into it, ensureall that protection is equipped and that you have loaded weapons. Try to avoid the enemies and any pools as necessary. You can use the objective marker to guide you.
Fallout 4’s 10 Best Random Encounters
Traveling around the world of Fallout 4 is always kept fresh and interesting with so many random encounters, and these are some of the best.
The nextwaypoint is the Crater of Atom, where you can explore and talk to some of those who live there. Specifically, a woman will speak to you when you pass, and you will want to ask her about the Holy Ground.
Assure her you mean no harm, and after you have been admitted, you may also ask about Virgil. She will tell you where he lives, and a new objective marker should lead you to Virgil. It isbest to avoid the enemies here, as they can be quite nasty.
To see exactly how to circumnavigate the enemies, seeFather‘s video on YouTube, where you may see how they rundirectly from the Crater of Atom to Virgil’s cave, avoiding all enemies and dangerous pools as they do.
Once you arrive, you may speak to Virgil about your quest and your son, and he will give you some new information. You will need toconvince him that Kellogg is dead.
Of course, the conversation will mostly be directed by your player’s actions and how you have built your character. Having a Persuasion skill will certainly help you make it easier. Either way, this conversation will redirect you andofficially finish the Glowing Sea Quest inFallout 4and set you onto a new one.
