ExtraEmily returns to Twitch with driving school stream after ban for running red light
Popular streamer ExtraEmily returned to Twitch after a 24-hour ban for speeding, choosing to redeem herself by attending driving classes with a special “instructor” from OTK.
On July 29, 2025, Emily streamed herselfdriving through a red lightat an intersection, sparking outrage among viewers for her unsafe operation of the vehicle.
The next day, Emily’s channel was banned, marking her second suspension on the platform after her first ban in 2023 fortexting and driving.

Emily returned toTwitchin anApril 15 stream, where she apologized to her fans and broadcast herself attending driving lessons with special “instructor” Jacob Gregory, a producer for streaming organization OTK.
“I do wanna say that I apologize for being reckless with my driving and running the red light,” she began. “It was a very bad mistake on my part. But, what can you do? I just have to live and learn from it, and improve.
“I will be a lot more careful. I guess the only thing I can do is improve in the future and not do it again… I’m human. Humans make mistakes. It’s kinda crazy, because if I had stopped at that red light, none of this would have happened.”

After pulling up to an empty parking lot, Emily met up with OTK producer Jacob Gregory, who put her through several exercises to determine her driving skills.
First, he made her take a vision test, similar to what patients experience at the optometrist’s office, to see if she could clearly read signs on the road while driving. At ten feet away, she was able to read a line of small letters — which claimed that her eyesight is 20/25.

After that, Jacob took her through the usual exercises in a physical driver’s test, including parking, and even quizzed her on her basic knowledge of driving laws.
Overall, Jacob determined that she’d passed his “test,” but laughingly admitted that he “wasn’t a real driving instructor.”
While Emily was able to poke fun at her ban and the drama that resulted from it, she assured viewers that she will improve her driving skills to avoid such situations in the future.
Twitch has also faced criticism over its handling of Emily’s ban, with critics feeling her suspension should have been longer. The platformeven deleted a tweetthey published on April 14 celebrating the streamer in the middle of her suspension after viewers pointed out the bad timing.
For Twitch’s part, the platform has changed how it handles suspensions, allowingpermanently banned streamers to appealafter six months and providing more clarity into why broadcasters were banned in the first place.
