Valor Mortis
Valor Mortiscomes from a new studio, Lyrical Games, diving deep into brutal medieval fantasy. The Gamescom trailer showed a golden-masked warrior decapitating foes before morphing into a monstrous form. Expect bleak landscapes, bloodshed, and dual-wield combat with swords, rifles, and fire magic. Playtest sign-ups are open, butno release date.
PVKK, first revealed as a retro-futuristic defense sim where you manage a giant orbital cannon while balancing English tea breaks, returned at Gamescom with a new trailer. It highlighted frantic ship repairs, modular upgrades, slapstick combat, and its darkly comic red button finale. PVKK launches inSummer 2026.
Routine was announced years ago as a retro sci-fi horror project, set in an abandoned lunar base with a VHS-style aesthetic. At Gamescom, a new trailer doubled down on its unsettling mood, showing flickering hallways, broken tech, and haunting audio design. Routine is scheduled to release in late 2025.
Sword of Legends
Sword of Legends was unveiled as a new soulslike steeped in samurai flair, leaning into myth and folklore for its enemy roster. The Gamescom trailer showed grotesque designs ranging from dragons to deranged warriors and even walking houses, plus a summoning system for extra aid. Sword of Legends has no release date.

2025 video game release calendar: All new games coming out this year
Road Kings was introduced as a long-haul trucking sim with a focus on customization and Americana style. At Gamescom, the trailer spotlighted country tunes, shiny rigs with swappable attachments, money-making hauls, and playful dashboard trinkets like bobbleheads. Road Kings promises a mix of realism and charm, releasing in 2026.
Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds
Developed by Sonic Team and published by SEGA,Sonic Racing: CrossWorldsis the next kart-racer in the Sonic franchise, featuring a massive roster, transforming vehicles, and the NEW “Travel Rings” mechanic that warps racers mid-race to alternate tracks. The game is officially launching onSeptember 25, 2025for most platforms, including PS5, Xbox Series, Switch, and PC.
Hollow Knight: Silksong
Hollow Knight: Silksong,Team Cherry’s long-awaited sequel, has been in development for years as the follow-up to the critically acclaimed Metroidvania. At Gamescom 2025, Geoff Keighley confirmed it will release this year, debuting fresh gameplay that highlighted new biomes, enemies, and Hornet’s expanded movement. Silksong launches in2025.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 7
Call of Duty: Black Ops 7,previously revealed at the Xbox showcase with its psychological warfare theme and David Mason’s return, headlined Gamescom with a full gameplay demo. Lords of the Fallen 2
Lords of the Fallen, CI Games’ brutal dark fantasy soulslike, is back with a full sequel. At Gamescom, the reveal trailer showcased eerie landscapes, blood-soaked corpses, grotesque tentacled horrors, and towering armored foes. Expect epic clashes with swords, staves, and angelic beings. Lords of the Fallen 2 is coming in2026.
LEGO Batman: Legacy of The Dark Knight
TT Games, long known for their playful LEGO adaptations of iconic franchises, is returning to Gotham. At Gamescom,LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knightwas revealed with the Bat-Signal lighting up, classic melee combat, Batmobile chases, grappling, sliding, and Joker mayhem. Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War 4
Relic Entertainment, the studio behind the acclaimed Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War series, is bringing the franchise back withDawn of War 4.The Gamescom trailer revealed brutal orc battles with armored suits, massive weapons, backstabbing betrayals, and chainsaw blades tearing through foes. Monster Hunter Wilds x Final Fantasy 14 collab
Square Enix has previously crossed paths with Capcom’sMonster Hunterin events like Ever Crisis, but Gamescom marked the debut of a new collaboration. The reveal trailer showed off iconic monsters, themed gear, and crossover hunts blending both worlds’ styles. It’s available in earlyOctober.
Onimusha: Way of the Sword
Capcom’s Onimusha series, long dormant since its PS2 heyday, returns withOnimusha: Way of the Sword. Revealed at Gamescom, the trailer showed a samurai preparing for brutal katana duels against grotesque monstrosities, twisted flesh, glaring eyes, and writhing tentacles, alongside cinematic boss battles. Arknights: Endfield
Arknights: Endfield,Hypergryph’s follow-up to the hit mobile tower-defense gacha, was already known for shifting into a full 3D action RPG. At Gamescom, a new trailer highlighted its anime-styled visuals, soaring soundtrack, and charming cast of characters, all wrapped in sleek combat. Arknights: Endfield hasno release date.
Europa Universalis 5
Paradox Interactive, renowned for its deep grand strategy titles, is moving the franchise forward with Europa Universalis V. Announced at Gamescom, the sequel promises a very stylish look. Pre-purchase is already available, but Europa Universalis V currently hasno release date.
Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion
Marvelous’ mech-action series returns withDaemon X Machina, following up its cult-hit debut on Switch and PC. At Gamescom, the latest trailer showcased fast-paced aerial battles, towering mechanical foes, and customizable arsenals brimming with firepower. Indiana Jones: The Order of Giants DLC
Bethesda’s Indiana Jones adventure is expanding withThe Order of Giants DLC, previously confirmed to continue Indy’s 1930s exploits. At Gamescom, the trailer showed Rome in 1937, with new dungeons, whip-based combat, and a clash against a religious cult guarding the Coliseum’s hidden secret. The DLC launchesSeptember 4, 2025.
World of Tanks 2.0
Wargaming, long known for its massively popular armored warfare sim, is leveling up the battlefield withWorld of Tanks 2.0. The Gamescom reveal featured desert clashes, underwater creatures, tanks tumbling from cliffs, and colossal explosions across regions. World of Tanks 2.0 rolls outSeptember 1–3across APAC, EU, and NA.
World of Tanks: HEAT
As well as the huge 2.0 update, we also got the reveal of War of Tanks: HEAT, a brand-new game coming to PlayStation, Xbox, and Steam. This free-to-play vehicle shooter adds a splash of Overwatch to the core 10v10 battles, as each tank has its own hero-like abilities, and will be the first entry in the series to launch on all platforms on day one with full crossplay support.
John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando
Saber Interactive, best known for World War Z and co-op chaos, is back withJohn Carpenter’s Toxic Commando.At Gamescom, gameplay showed players driving through infested zones, cracking crates for loot, wielding heavy weapons, and battling hordes of zombies with friends amid tentacled horrors. Toxic Commando will release in2026.
Death By Scrolling
From a new indie studio blending cozy life sims with hardcore action, Death By Scrollingwas unveiled at Gamescom. Geoff Keighley called it “dangerously addictive,” as the trailer showed players picking doomed heroes, tackling quests, shopping, and fighting bosses in purgatory. Think Stardew Valley meets Warzone. No release date.
Zero Parades
ZA/UM, the studio behind the acclaimed Disco Elysium, is back with a new narrative-driven project titledZero Parades. Revealed at Gamescom, it carried the same moody atmosphere and sharp narration fansexpect, blending striking visuals with heavy themes. The showcase built intrigue, but Zero Parades hasno release date.
Neverness to Everness
From a new studio aiming to fuse open-world mayhem with gacha mechanics,Neverness to Evernesswas revealed at Gamescom. The trailer showed GTA-style action with flashy visuals, high-speed vehicle chases, and over-the-top combat, all wrapped in a collectible-driven system. Unbeatable
Unbeatable, the stylish rhythm adventure from D-CELL Games, has built a following thanks to its anime-inspired art and energetic original soundtrack. At Gamescom, a new trailer showed off its flashy combat and narrative-driven rhythm mechanics. Unbeatable officially launches onNovember 6, 2025.
Honor of Kings: World
Honor of Kings, Tencent’s record-breaking mobile MOBA, is expanding into new territory with Honor of Kings: World. Previously announced as an open-world action RPG, it returned at Gamescom with a cinematic look at its vast environments, flashy combat, and larger-than-life bosses. Despite the showcase, Honor of Kings: World hasno release date.
Ninja Gaiden 4
Team Ninja, long celebrated for its fast-paced action games, is reviving the iconic series withNinja Gaiden 4.Shown at Gamescom, the trailer spotlighted razor-sharp combat, new enemy types, and a deeper focus on story-driven encounters. Ninja Gaiden 4 launches onOctober 21, 2025.
Cinder City
From a new studio aiming to blend sci-fi horror with all-out action,Cinder Citywas revealed at Gamescom. The trailer featured futuristic skylines under siege, helicopters swarming, hulking mechas in battle, and grotesque aliens devouring soldiers in brutal FPS combat. Cinder City looks intense, coming out onsecond half of 2026.
Time Takers
Time Takers, a new hero shooter blending elements of Overwatch and Marvel Rivals, made its debut at Gamescom. The reveal trailer showcased colorful heroes wielding unique powers, fast-paced FPS combat, and creative throwables that shake up team fights. The stylish new contender has been announced withno release date.
Silent Hill f
Konami’sSilent Hill F, first announced as a new mainline entry set in 1960s Japan, returned at Gamescom with a chilling trailer. Players glimpsed misty cities, eerie radio static, piles of bloody uniforms, crowbar combat, and unsettling new characters like the fox-masked guy. Silent Hill F is coming outSeptember 25, 2025.
Divina Commedia
From a new studio inspired by Dante’s epic, Divina Commedia was announced as a soulslike steeped in moody atmosphere and punishing combat. The Gamescom trailer revealed nightmarish enemies, gothic settings, and deliberate swordplay that echoes the genre’s best. It’s already available to wishlist on Steam, but no release date.
Cronos: The New Dawn
Bloober Team, best known for their psychological horror games, is branching out withCronos: The New Dawn.Shown at Gamescom, the trailer featured eerie subway stations, towering castles, and bloody combat mixing melee with FPS elements. The Outer Worlds 2

The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin
Netmarble F&C, already known for its global hit The Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross, unveiledThe Seven Deadly Sins: Originat Gamescom 2025 during Opening Night Live. The cinematic trailer plunged players into an expansive open-world Britannia with original characters and multiverse-spanning combat. Launching in2025 acrossPS5, Steam, iOS, and Android.
Moonlighter 2
Digital Sun, the indie team behind the cult hit Moonlighter, unveiled its sequel,Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault, at Gamescom via Opening Night Live. The reveal featured its brand-new cel-shaded 3D art, revamped combat/shop loop, and roguelite upgrades. It launches in Early Access onOctober 23, 2025
Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines 2
The long-awaited sequel,Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines 2, has been in the works for years as the follow-up to the cult classic RPG. At Gamescom, the latest trailer delivered bloody combat, stylish urban backdrops, and visceral blood-drinking powers. Vampire: Bloodlines 2 is set to release onOctober 21, 2025.
Age of Empires Definitive Edition
World’s Edge, the studio behind Age of Empires, brought the franchise back to Gamescom with multiple updates. The showcase highlighted new DLC forAge of Empires 2 and 5, alongside the first hands-on demo for Age of Empires Mobile’s PC edition. Excitement was high, but no release date was announced.
Kingdom Come Deliveance 2 Legacy of the Forge DLC
Warhorse Studios, creators ofKingdom Come: Deliverance 2, revealed the game’s first expansion, Legacy of the Forge, at Gamescom.
