Microsoft’s Xbox consoles support HDR — or high dynamic range — and 4K.HDR graphicscan be especially important in video games because it introduces a range of brightness and color that is closer to what we see in real life.
Then there’s 4K, which introduces a level of clarity and sharpness that, in the right environments, can take your breath away. Combine the two and you’re in for quite an experience. For gamers who want toget the most outof their video games, these two things can play a big factor when they’re looking for a new title to play.
It’s important to note that there is a difference between native 4K and 4K upscaling. Native 4K — available on the Xbox One X — comes in the resolution 3840 x 2160, meaning there’s a much higher saturation of pixels in every image you see. On the other hand, 4K upscaling, which you can find on the Xbox One S, will take experiences in 720p and 1080p, and scale them to size, but won’t be as stunning as something curated specifically for native 4K.
In order toenjoy 4K and HDR, you’ll need a television or monitor that supports them. If you do have the proper equipment to enjoy these two wonderful features, you’ll be happy to know that there are plenty of games to enjoy that support 4K or HDR — and sometimes both!

Look for the logos
On a game’s info page or the box itself, you will see three different logos referring to image quality:
4K UltraHD: This means games output at least at 210p.
HDR: This means the game supports HDR 10, but necessarily other HDR standards.
Xbox One X Enhanced: This means extra work has been done to get frame rate, resolution, etc. on older games ready for the Xbox One X and other consoles. It does not necessarily mean that 4K or HDR standards have been met.
A game may have all three of these labels or just one: Watching for what labels are included can immediately tell you a lot.
