Buffed Warzone AR dethrones meta Model L as new best weapon
TheModel Lhas dominated Warzone for much of Season 2, but after a substantial buff in themid-season update, there’s a new Assault Rifle here to take the throne.
Warzone Season 2 Reloadedis another smaller update as the devs look to get the battle royale back on track. It mostly focuses on major fixes and quality-of-life changes, but still makes room forTeenage Mutant Ninja Turtles crossoverandnew melee weapons.
It also comes with plenty ofweapon buffs and nerfs, looking to shake up the meta that has been bossed by the Model L and C9. This has made way for theCypher 091to swoop in and take Model’s crown as the best gun in the game.
Cypher 091 outguns Model L with rapid TTK
As detailed in the patch notes, the Cypher 091 has been handed a huge buff in the mid-season update. Its damage range has been increased across the board, making the Season 2 Assault Rifle a beast at all distances with an impressive TTK.
It also received an increase in damage when hitting arms and legs, so it’s much more forgiving even if you don’t land a chest or headshot every time.
Meanwhile, the Model L has been hit with a severe nerf in an attempt to end its dominance. Its maximum and medium damage ranges have been drastically reduced, along with a bullet velocity drop that’s likely to really hamper it in longer-range fights.

The result is that the Cypher 091 has a TTK around 80ms faster than the Model L all the way up to 50 meters, according to figures from ‘WZStatsGG.’ While the Model can kill a fully plated enemy in roughly 830ms, the Cypher destroys with a time of just 750ms.
The Krig C, which also got a substantial buff in Season 2 Reloaded, is another contender. Just looking at the stats, it has a time-to-kill that matches the Cypher, but it doesn’t drop off until 60 meters instead of just 50 meters.

However, in practice, the Krig has much more recoil to contend with, making it extremely unlikely that you’ll achieve this TTK consistently at long range. Meanwhile, its main competitor has virtually no visual recoil, allowing you to delete enemies with unrivaled precision.
So, if you’re looking for an Assault Rifle to partner with theC9in Season 2 Reloaded, the Cypher 091 is all set to become the go-to weapon going forward.
