Black Ops 6 Zombies King of the Dead event explained
Black Ops 6has brought a constant stream of unlockable cosmetics through its events, and the King of the Dead is coming soon.
TheSeason 4 Reloaded updateis almost here, bringing Resurgence Ranked Play back toWarzone, the fan-favorite Fringe map to multiplayer, and new Zombies events and LTMs.
Alongside the Abomination Challenge and Starting Room modes, the King of the Dead Leaderboard Event arrives in the update, so here’s everything we know about it.
Black Ops 6’sKing of the Dead event goes live in Season 4 Reloaded, which starts on Wednesday, July 2.
TheRivalsevent finishes on July 2, the day of the update, but theSeason 4 Reloaded blogpost hasn’t made it clear exactly when King of the Dead starts.
There’s also a Beavis and Butt-Head event that takes place across Warzone and Black Ops 6, bringing the Olympia and Pickaxe weapons, and then the CODtoons event brings a new weapon camo.
The Season 4 blog also mentions a ‘Master of Grief’ event set for the mid-season, but it wasn’t mentioned in the Season 4 Reloaded post.
How does it work?
The event is only in Black Ops 6’s Zombies mode, where you “Eliminate zombies in any Zombie mode to earn points to climb the leaderboard.”
Once the event’s live, play a match of Zombies, and you’ll get placed on a leaderboard. So, it sounds like you’ll be going against a select group rather thaneveryone.

“As you’d expect, you receive more points for dispatching the harder zombie types,”explained the devs. “This, in turn, causes you to climb the Zombies leaderboard, and once the Event is over, rewards will be granted based on your leaderboard position.”
These points will also complete event challenges “that accompany the Leaderboard and unlock rewards when completed.”
Rest assured, you’ll get a reward no matter where you place, but the best ones are reserved for those who place at the top of the leaderboard.
We don’t know what the rewards are yet, but we’ll be sure to update this piece once they’ve been revealed.
The devs have also confirmed that the final BO6 Zombies map arrives with theSeason 5 update, which is set for August 7.
