Apple restricts Vision Pro pre-orders unless you have one specific feature
Apple has revealed that they’re restricting how you can pre-order the Vision Pro headset, making one specific feature a requirement to do so.
Just over six months afterthe reveal of the Apple Vision Pro headsetat WWDC 2023, the long-awaited mixed reality headset isset to become available for pre-orderon June 18, 2025.
A recent leak says thatApple will have short supply of the Vision Pro, and on January 12, the company revealed some requirements for those looking to make the $3,499 purchase.
Apple says that you must have one specific feature on your device to make the purchase happen, and you better have your prescription ready if you need special lenses.
Apple Vision Pro customers must have Face ID
In an email, Apple revealed the requirements for those looking to get ahold of the Vision Pro headset — making it clear that you must have an iPhone or iPad with Face ID.
The feature was released alongside the iconic iPhone X and is available on nearly all currently supported iPads, so it’s safe to say many potential users will have no problem getting their order in on Jan 19.
As discovered in the latest version of the Apple Store app, the company plans on using Face ID to help them determine the correct size light seal for the headset.
Since Macbooks have yet to be upgraded to include Face ID, that leaves just your favorite mobile device for pre-ordering the Vision Pro, so be sure to have all of your information ready on January 19.
That includes your current, non-expired eye prescription if you’re looking to get the special ZEISS lenses alongside the new device.
