Summary
Marvel Studios could adapt any of Marvel Comics' brilliantDeadpoolandSpider-Manstories into live-action after Shawn Levy’s comments regarding a potentialMCUteam-up. Shawn Levy has recently been working onMarvel Studios' upcomingDeadpool & Wolverine, which is set to bring Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool and Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine into the MCU proper for the first time ever. This team-up movie could set the tone for future partnerships for the Merc with a Mouth, including one with everyone’s favorite Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man.
In the latest issue ofTotal Film(viaGamesRadar), director Shawn Levy expressed his wish to bring Deadpool and Spider-Man together in the MCU.Deadpool and Spider-Man were one of Marvel Comics' most unlikely partnerships, but the pair embarked on many adventures together. Deadpool was also featured in pairings with other heroes, including Daredevil, but Marvel Studios has a huge wealth of Marvel Comics storylines available to be adapted into a potentialDeadpool and Spider-Man team-up movie.

The thing about Deadpool is I think he makes everything more interesting because of his audacity. But, boy, I’d sure love to see Deadpool and Spidey. That’s a movie I’d love to make. I feel like Tom Holland would run circles around everyone else.
I’ve Been Waiting 5 Years For A Deadpool & Spider-Man Movie, Please Make It Happen Marvel
Shawn Levy recently shared his interest in a Spider-Man/Deadpool crossover, and it’s exactly what I’d love to see after 2024’s Deadpool & Wolverine.
10Deadpool & Spider-Man Could Swap Costumes To Defeat The Chameleon
The Chameleon May Already Have Appeared In The MCU
One part of Deadpool and Spider-Man’s epic team-up series in Marvel Comics saw the titular heroes take on the Chameleon, a master of disguise and one ofSpider-Man’s most memorable villains. When the Chameleon imitated people close to Peter Parker, driving the wall-crawler to the brink of paranoia, Deadpool devised a plan to play the villain at his own game.Swapping costumes, Deadpool and Spider-Man managed to fool the Chameleon, which would be an entertaining story to tell in the MCU.
Helping this is the fact that Marvel Studios may have already teased theChameleon in the MCU.Spider-Man: Far From Homeintroduced Numan Acar as Dimitri, one of Nick Fury’s associates who could be the MCU’s Dmitri Smerdyakov, the real identity of Marvel Comics' Chameleon. While this hasn’t been confirmed, bringing back Acar’s Dimitri as the Chameleon could be a great way to bring Deadpool and Spider-Man together, wrapping up a five-year-old mystery.

Fred Hechinger will portray Dmitri Smerdyakov’s Chameleon in the upcomingKraven the Huntermovie in Sony’s Spider-Man Universe.
9Deadpool & Spider-Man Could Fight Life Model Decoys Together
Life Model Decoys Haven’t Made Their Official MCU Debut
Throughout theSpider-Man/Deadpoolseries, which ran between 2016 and 2019 in Marvel Comics, the web-slinger and the Merc with a Mouth battled a series of Life Model Decoys (LMDs).LMDs haven’t been introduced into the MCU’s main continuity just yet, but the robotic simulants had a massive role in Marvel Television’sAgents of SHIELD, meaning they could make the move to the MCU soon. LMDs could pose a huge threat to Deadpool and Spider-Man, and would be a clear response to recent MCU events.
Marvel Studios projects, includingCaptain MarvelandSecret Invasion, have stressed the theme of notable heroes being replaced by stand-ins. In these cases, this has been thanks to the shape-shifting Skrulls, butintroducing LMDs to the MCUcould add an extra, man-made, flair to this trend. This could see Deadpool and Spider-Man come together to take down numerous Deadpool LMDs, perhaps even in an alternate future timeline where they are hilarious elderly superheroes.

10 Things Agents Of SHIELD Did Way Before The MCU
In seven seasons of Agents of SHIELD, the Marvel Television series featured several storylines that would later be included in the MCU proper.
8Major Spider-Man Villain Could Pose A Threat To Deadpool In The MCU’s Future
Tombstone Tried To Frame Deadpool In Marvel Comics
2009’s five-issueDeadpool: Suicide Kingslimited series saw Deadpool go up against the formidable Spider-Man villain Tombstone. During this event,Tombstone framed Deadpool as a terrorist, leading to the Merc with a Mouth coming into opposition with prominent heroes Daredevil, the Punisher, and Spider-Man. This would be a great story to explore in the MCU, particularly since Deadpool is about to be a completely new player in the franchise’s main timeline, and therefore a potentially-easy target for villains.
Tombstone has been speculated to appear inTom Holland’s nextSpider-Mantrilogy, so this could begin to tease his vendetta against heroes such as Deadpool. A Shawn Levy-directed Deadpool and Spider-Man team-up movie focused on theSuicide Kingsstoryline would also constitute appearances by Charlie Cox’s Daredevil and Jon Bernthal’s Punisher. This could truly begin to establish Deadpool as a permanent cog in the MCU machine.

10 Marvel Villains Not Adapted To Live-Action That’d Be Perfect For Spider-Man 4
Spider-Man 4 has been rumored to be featuring a villain that has never been adapted into live-action, and there are several powerful candidates.
7Inferior Deadpool Could Introduce A Very Different Spider-Man
Deadpool Teamed Up With The Superior Spider-Man In Marvel Comics
While it would be fantastic to see Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool partner with Tom Holland’s Spider-Man, it’s also possible that the Merc with a Mouth could join forces with a very different Spider-Man. During Marvel Comics’Deadpool (Vol. 5) #10in 2013,Deadpool teamed-up with Otto Octavius' Superior Spider-Man in the wake of Peter Parker’s death and Octavius taking over his body. While Peter Parker had a short fuse for Deadpool’s hilarious antics, Octavius' Superior Spider-Man had none at all.
There has been speculation thatTom Holland’s career as Spider-Man could come to an end in his next MCU trilogy, opening the door for someone new to replace him. In a brilliant twist, this could be theMCU’s Otto Octavius, introducing the Superior Spider-Man, and providing a future team-up movie between Deadpool and the wall-crawler with an interesting dynamic. However, this may lack the buddy-cop likability of Deadpool and Spider-Man’s stories in Marvel Comics.

Alfred Molina portrayed Dr. Otto Octavius in 2004’sSpider-Man 2and 2021’sSpider-Man: No Way Home, but Marvel Studios could still debut a new version of the villain in the MCU proper.
6Spider-Man 4’s Possible Villain Could Bring Deadpool Into The Fray
Marvel Comics Saw Symbiotes Bond With Dinosaurs (Accidentally Released By Deadpool)
AfterSpider-Man: No Way Home’spost-credits scene, one of the most likely villains expected to appear in Marvel Studios' upcomingSpider-Man 4is the alien symbiote Venom. The SSU’sVenom: The Last Dancemay change this, but the prospect of Venom appearing in the MCU proper creates the opportunity for this wild Deadpool and Spider-Man team-up story to unfold. After Deadpool accidentally unleashed dinosaurs in New York in 2008’sCable & Deadpool #50, symbiotes bonded to the creatures, forcing Deadpool and Spider-Man to fight them together.
This story may be too outlandish for the live-action MCU, but Marvel Studios could make alterations to make it more believable and realistic. Symbiotes are expected (or at least hoped) to be a major part of Spider-Man’s MCU future, and adapting this tale could allow Deadpool to further cement himself as part of the MCU’s primary timeline. This would mark a powerful MCU debut for Venom, which is essential asVenom: The Last Dancewill be his final SSU movie.

Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock left a piece of the Venom symbiote in the MCU inSpider-Man: No Way Home, and dinosaurs then briefly appeared inDoctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, so an adaptation of this storyline is shockingly possible.
5Deadpool & Spider-Man Could Travel To The MCU’s Weirdworld
Weirdworld Plays A Big Role In Marvel’s Secret Wars Event
Marvel Comics' Weirdworld was initially established as a magical realm separate to the main universe, but 2015’sSecret Warsevent ended with Weirdworld manifesting in Earth-616. This allowed Deadpool and Spider-Man to journey to the strange land inSpider-Man/Deadpool #13during their battle against Itsy-Bitsy.This could be an interesting story to explore in the MCU, particularly since Marvel Studios has already introduced a huge number of alternate realms and dimensions, and the franchise is hurtling towards therelease ofAvengers: Secret Wars.
Weirdworld is a place of fantastical beasts, otherworldly characters, magical landscapes, and terrifying villains, including the powerful witch Morgan le Fay. With the world of magic set to expand following the2024 release ofAgatha All Along, now may be the perfect time for Marvel Studios to introduce Weirdworld. Trapping Deadpool and Spider-Man there for a potential team-up movie would be a great way to explore the pair’s dynamic, as they would need to learn to work together to be able to escape.

From the Quantum Realm to the Ancestral Plane, the MCU is filled with various different dimensions. Here’s everything you need to know about them all.
4Zenpool Could Team Up With Spider-Man In An Axis Adaptation
Axis Inverted Heroes’ Powers In Marvel Comics
Their partnership here has a very different feel that would be brilliant to see in the live-action MCU.
Deadpool, Deadpool 2, and the upcomingDeadpool & Wolverinehave all showcased Ryan Reynolds' Merc with a Mouth as a violent and cold-blooded killer, but a future team-up between Deadpool and Spider-Man could put a more serene twist on Wade Wilson.Marvel Comics’AXISevent in 2014 saw the Scarlet Witch and Doctor Doom inadvertently invert the morality of most of Marvel’s characters, making heroes into villains and villains into heroes. This transformed the usually-aggressive Deadpool into Zenpool, a fitting partner for Spider-Man.
Unaffected by the inversion spell, Spider-Man joined forces with Zenpool during theAXISevent to take down Evan Sabahnur, the new Apocalypse. While the pair are unsuccessful, eventually joining the other heroes in battle, their partnership here has a very different feel that would be brilliant to see in the live-action MCU. This would also gift Reynolds the chance to explore new layers of Deadpool that viewers have never seen before.
3The Infinite House Of Civil Yet Secret Crisis War Invasion Could Tie Together Multiple MCU Stories
Deadpool & Spider-Man’s Team-Up In Marvel Comics Ended With This Major Event
Marvel Comics’Spider-Man/Deadpoolrun came to an end in a five-part finale, which explored a massive Marvel event known as theInfinite House of Civil Yet Secret Crisis War Invasion.Returning from an adventure in the Negative Zone, Deadpool and Spider-Man found themselves in a world ravaged by the appearance of a new villain known as the Manipulator. This caused a huge war between the Earth’s heroes, with many being defeated or captured, leaving only Deadpool and Spider-Man to save the day.
The title of this event is a mash-up of many previous crossover stories, soadapting it for the MCU would be a great way of tying together some of Marvel Studios' recent, separate plots. This story also played with Deadpool’s fourth wall-breaking ability, initially taking it away, before having Deadpool and Spider-Man both exit the comic to save the universe from the outside. A story such as this would fit perfectly in the MCU’s Multiverse Saga, and could solidifyDeadpool as the true “Marvel Jesus”.
The Multiverse Saga’s Biggest Threat Was Introduced 2 Years Before Kang According To Deadpool & Wolverine Theory
Deadpool & Wolverine’s recently confirmed variants suggest that the Multiverse Saga’s most powerful weapon was introduced back in Phase 4.
2Marvel Studios Could Adapt Deadpool & Spider-Man’s First Storyline For The MCU
Deadpool Time Traveled & Impersonated Spider-Man In 1997
The first time Marvel Comics ever featured Deadpool and Spider-Man in a storyline together, the pair didn’t actually meet in person. 1997’sDeadpool (Vol. 3) #11saw Deadpool travel back in time with Blind Al, inserting himself into a classic Spider-Man story, 1967’sAmazing Spider-Man #47. In an effort to find Weasel and return to his home time period,Deadpool impersonated Peter Parker, calling the wall-crawler with an anonymous tip to remove him from New York while he masqueraded as Spider-Man.
In a red-and-blue costume, it was easier for Marvel Comics' Deadpool to disguise himself asPeter Parker’s Spider-Man. This will be more difficult in the MCU, as Spider-Man and Deadpool have very different costumes and vastly different builds, but this would still be an entertaining story to explore in a potential team-up movie. This could see Deadpool battle a classic Spider-Man villain, such as the Vulture or Mysterio, or even Kraven the Hunter, who he fights in the Marvel Comics storyline.
Aaron Taylor-Johnson is set to debut as Sergei Kravinoff in 2024’sKraven the Hunter, releasing as part of Sony’s Spider-Man Universe, though there has been no word of a crossover with the MCU proper.
1Deadpool & Spider-Man’s First Real Meeting Saw Them Battle
Deadpool & Spider-Man Could Be Enemies In The MCU
Deadpool is a violent, R-rated antihero who does bad things for the right reasons, while Spider-Man is an outright hero.
It wasn’t until 2006’sCable & Deadpool #24that Deadpool and Spider-Man first officially crossed paths. This storyline began the pair’s frenemy dynamic that would last throughout their extensive subsequent adventures, aswhen Deadpool was sent by Cable to investigate and disrupt a secret military program, Peter Parker was also sent with Daily Bugle employees to do the same. This brought the wall-crawler and the Merc with a Mouth together for the first time, but they certainly didn’t get off on the right foot.
This is the kind of dynamic that could be expected for Deadpool and Spider-Man’s first meeting in the MCU.Deadpool is a violent, R-rated antiherowho does bad things for the right reasons, while Spider-Man is an outright hero who always tries to do the right thing. This will clearly bring them into conflict with each other, so havingDeadpoolandSpider-Maninvestigate the same nefarious organization, using their opposing tactics, would be a great story for Shawn Levy to explore in a potential MCU team-up movie.
Marvel Cinematic Universe
